All of which can give you quests and have interesting dialogue to share throughout the course of the game. Zed, Crazy Earl, Patricia Tannis and yes…sadly…Claptrap. I played as Gaige myself and thoroughly enjoyed her play style.Īs for NPCs, we see the return of some familiar faces such as Marcus, Moxxi, Scooter, Dr. All of which have unique dialogue and reactions to events in the story. However, Borderlands 2 shows the introduction of 2 DLC characters in the form of Gaige – The Mechromancer and Krieg – The Psycho. Similar to the first game, each character has individual skills that help you in different ways throughout your time on Pandora. This time around, the four Vault Hunters available to play are Axton – The Commando, Salvador – The Gunzerker, Maya – The Siren and Zero – The Assassin. The story made me laugh, shout, and even feel a little sad at times. If a classic good vs evil, great comedic script, fun/memorable characters and an arsenal of kick assery isn’t enough to get you interested then I don’t know what is. You, as the Vault Hunter, must join forces with the Crimson Raiders the last form of resistance against Jack’s evil reign and defeat him before he can succeed with his sinister plans. Handsome Jack is a narcissistic megalomaniac on a mission, or should I say missionS ridding Pandora of all bandits in order to create a “civilised” world, mine Pandora of all Eridium as it has become an invaluable resource, and kill all Vault Hunters. Unlike in the first game where finding the vault was pretty much the only aim, Borderlands 2 takes it up a notch with the introduction of the overpowering and multi billion corporation Hyperion, lead by Handsome Jack (I will go into more depth with him later). You play, once again, as one of the playable Vault Hunters adventurers traveling to the planet of Pandora in search of mystical alien vaults that home great and wonderful prizes for those fortunate enough to find one. Borderlands 2 is a huge breathe of fresh air as the story is the main focus of this brilliant game. It was literally just a scene setter that had very little story content involved which made the experience almost boring. Having played the first Borderlands, which does a good job of setting the scene and introducing us to the world of Pandora and all that comes with it, for me it failed to do anything else in terms of story. I’ll try my best not to spoil anything but new comers to the series, you have been warned! Story
